Who is Pele? Pele is the honored female deity of fire. The Hawaiian Fire Goddess is a Sacred Spirit of an earthly element.
According to ancient Hawaiian tradition, Pele looked for a location to dig a fire pit to make her home. She chose the Big Island of Hawaii at the place called Kilauea.
Hawaiians believe that everything has a Divine Purpose that Hawaiians take care to acknowledge and honor in their cultural rites. Pele reminds us to be good stewards of the land, water, trees etc as we humans are interdependent with them.
Remember, these volcanic eruptions are part of the shedding of the Old Earth making way for the New Earth through these changes.
